Mercedes Benz Fashion Week wound down this week in New York City. Ralph Lauren presented his Fall/Winter 2010 Collection at Bryant Park. The collection was highlighted by a mixture of fantastic textures. From luxe velvet to lace gloves and delicate jewelry to flirty skirts, the textures came together beautifully.
Oftentimes at Fashion Week, we see an array of clothing that is so eccentric that it’s impossible to figure out how to translate the looks to “real life.” That definitely wasn’t the case with Ralph Lauren. His classic American sportswear is wearable by women of all ages. Let’s take a look at some of the jewelry, accessories and apparel from the Ralph Lauren Fall/Winter 2010 show.
This sheer print dress is sexy and sweet at the same time. The accessories really make the look. The long beaded necklace, lace fingerless gloves and peep-toe pumps come together exquisitely.
At the Ralph Lauren show, we saw necklaces in every length imaginable. This choker features dangling jewels that complement that colors in this floral print frock.
This outfit epitomized Ralph Lauren’s use of textures for fall. The prim jacket is cinched with a brown leather belt with gold hardware. The menswear-inspired jacket is a fantastic contrast to the tired lace skirt, while the structured bag pulls the whole look together.
Even the footwear offered plenty of texture. These fur-trimmed ankle boots are ideal for for fall.
Over the next few days, we’ll look back at some of the offerings from Fashion Week and see what to expect in stores for fall.
